The Q Acoustics Concept Centre sits at the heart of the Concept Cinema System, designed to partner the Concept 20 bookshelf speakers and Concept 40 floorstanders in a dedicated home cinema setup. As the original flagship centre channel speaker in Q Acoustics’ Concept range, it shares the same driver technology and Gelcore™ cabinet construction that made its siblings critically acclaimed stereo performers.

Gelcore™ Cabinet Construction

The Concept Centre uses Q Acoustics’ Gelcore™ cabinet technology — a cabinet-within-a-cabinet design where the inner and outer enclosures are separated by a specially developed non-setting gel compound. This viscous layer converts panel vibrations generated by the moving drivers into heat, damping resonances far more effectively than a single-layer MDF enclosure. The result is a quieter, more inert cabinet that allows the drivers to perform without coloration from the enclosure itself.

Driver Configuration

A 25mm soft dome tweeter is flanked by two 100mm mid/bass drivers in a 2-way reflex configuration. The tweeter uses the same decoupled mounting found throughout the Concept range, isolating the delicate high-frequency driver from cabinet-borne vibrations. A foam port bung is included, allowing the user to tune the bass response to suit their room and placement — particularly useful when the speaker is positioned close to a wall or inside a cabinet.

Dialogue Clarity

With a sensitivity of 88dB and a recommended amplifier power of 25–75W, the Concept Centre is well-matched to a wide range of AV receivers. Its 6-ohm nominal impedance (4-ohm minimum) presents a straightforward load. The sealed and reflex cabinet options ensure clear, articulate dialogue reproduction — the primary role of any centre channel speaker in a surround sound system.
