The Q Acoustics 3090C is the dedicated centre channel speaker in the 3000c series, Q Acoustics' latest evolution of their most popular loudspeaker range. Succeeding the acclaimed 3090Ci from the 3000i series, the 3090C inherits the same compact horizontal form factor but introduces significant driver and cabinet engineering improvements that elevate dialogue clarity and tonal accuracy for home cinema systems.
C3 Continuous Curved Cone Technology
At the heart of the 3090C are two 101 mm mid/bass drivers featuring Q Acoustics' new C3 (Continuous Curved Cone) profile, developed from the ground up for this generation. The curved cone geometry is engineered to deliver superior bass dynamics whilst providing smoother integration with the high-frequency driver, resulting in a more cohesive and articulate mid-range that is critical for dialogue reproduction in film soundtracks.
Isolated High-Frequency Driver
The 22 mm tweeter is hermetically sealed and mechanically isolated from the main baffle. This decoupling prevents vibration energy from the mid/bass drivers modulating the tweeter’s output, preserving the detail and nuance in high-frequency content. The result is a sound characterised by detailed and nuanced high frequencies alongside controlled, powerful bass dynamics.
P2P Cabinet Bracing
The cabinet employs Q Acoustics’ P2P (Point to Point) bracing system, which targets and minimises low-frequency reverberation within the enclosure. By reducing unwanted cabinet resonance, the P2P bracing improves the stereo image and soundstage presentation, ensuring dialogue is projected cleanly and precisely to the listening position.
Design & Finish
The 3090C features a clean, contemporary aesthetic with sophisticated satin metallic driver trims that complement the smooth cabinet contours. At 159 mm tall, 430 mm wide and 216 mm deep, it is compact enough to sit beneath a television or on a dedicated AV shelf without dominating the space. The speaker weighs 6.5 kg, lending it a reassuring solidity. It is designed to integrate seamlessly with other speakers in the Q Acoustics 3000c range, including the 3010c and 3020c bookshelf speakers, the 3050c floorstanders, and the 3060s subwoofer for a complete home cinema system.
