The Q Acoustics 3020C sits within the generation C lineup — the latest evolution of Q Acoustics' acclaimed 3000 series, succeeding the 3020i. Designed as a compact bookshelf speaker, the 3020C delivers a refined balance of scale, detail, and bass control that belies its modest footprint, making it a natural partner for stereo hi-fi systems in rooms where space is at a premium.
C3 Continuous Curved Cone Driver
At the heart of the 3020C is Q Acoustics' 120mm (4.75") C³ Continuous Curved Cone bass driver. The C³ profile combines the bass performance benefits of a traditional straight conic cone with the high and mid-range frequency control of a flared cone, enabling superior dynamics and flexible room placement without the compromises typically associated with compact enclosures.
Tweeter and Crossover
The high-frequency driver is a 22mm (0.9") unit that is hermetically sealed and mechanically isolated from the cabinet, reducing the transmission of cabinet-borne vibrations into the tweeter assembly. The crossover point between the bass driver and tweeter is set at 2.6 kHz.
Cabinet Construction
The 3020C cabinet employs Q Acoustics' P2P (Point to Point) bracing — a structural reinforcement technique that ties opposing cabinet walls together at strategic points, increasing rigidity and reducing panel resonance. The result is a low-colouration enclosure with minimal reverberation, allowing the drivers to operate without interference from the cabinet itself. The rear-ported design works within an effective internal volume of 6.9 litres.
Finished in Claro Walnut with satin metallic driver trims, the 3020C features a contemporary minimalist aesthetic. Magnetic grilles are included for a clean, flush appearance when fitted.
Performance and Partnering
With a sensitivity of 87.0 dB (1m, 2.83V at 1 kHz) and a nominal impedance of 6Ω (minimum 3.7Ω), the 3020C is best partnered with amplifiers rated between 25 and 90 watts per channel. The frequency response extends from 60 Hz to 30 kHz (−6 dB), providing solid low-end reach for a speaker of this size.
