Designed as a compact bookshelf speaker for smaller rooms, desktop setups, and surround-sound duties, the 3010i delivers a 25% larger cabinet volume than its predecessor — resulting in deeper bass extension and greater sensitivity from a still-compact enclosure.
Driver Technology
The 3010i pairs a 100mm mid/bass driver with a 22mm tweeter in a two-way reflex configuration. The mid/bass cone is formed from impregnated, coated paper and suspended by a low-hysteresis rubber surround — a material choice that improves linearity and reduces distortion at higher excursions. The high-frequency driver is decoupled from the cabinet via a compliant suspension system, isolating it from panel vibrations, while a wide surround promotes even stereo dispersion across a broad listening area.
Cabinet Construction
Q Acoustics’ P2P™ (Point to Point) internal bracing ties opposing cabinet panels together, increasing structural rigidity and reducing resonance. The 4.0-litre enclosure is rear-ported, with foam bungs included for environments where the speakers must sit close to a rear wall — the bungs reduce bass output to compensate for boundary reinforcement while maintaining definition and extension. Conventional terminal panel cut-outs have been eliminated, improving the structural integrity of the enclosure and allowing the recessed, low-profile binding posts to sit closer to the rear wall.
Placement Flexibility
The 3010i can be shelf-mounted using the pre-fitted compliant rubber feet, stand-mounted on optional dedicated stands, or wall-mounted using optional brackets. The compact dimensions (253 × 150 × 252mm) and light weight (4.1kg per speaker) make them particularly suited to desktop and surround-sound applications where space is at a premium.
Finish and Design
Each speaker features chrome bezels and magnetically-attached grilles for a clean, modern appearance. The binding posts accept 4mm banana plugs as standard.
