The Pure Classic Stereo sits at the top of Pure's Classic range, a three-model lineup of retro-styled audio systems that also includes the C-D6 CD radio and the H4 tabletop radio. Where the C-D6 is a compact CD and radio unit and the H4 a standalone DAB receiver, the Classic Stereo is a full-sized all-in-one music system with 100W of stereo amplification, a built-in CD player, and comprehensive streaming connectivity.
Amplification & Drivers
The Classic Stereo delivers its 100W output through a pair of passive speakers, each housing a 1.25-inch soft dome tweeter and a 6.5-inch woofer. The combination of dedicated high-frequency and low-frequency drivers in a stereo configuration produces a wide, detailed soundstage from a single unit, making it suitable as a main system in a living room or study.
Radio & CD
Radio reception covers DAB, DAB+ (174–240 MHz) and FM (87.5–108 MHz), with internet radio access providing over 85,000 worldwide stations and podcasts via Wi-Fi. The built-in CD player handles both standard audio CDs and MP3-CDs. Each source type has 20 dedicated presets — 20 for DAB+, 20 for FM, 20 for internet radio, and 20 for Spotify — giving quick access to 80 favourites in total.
Streaming & Connectivity
Bluetooth 5.2 with AAC and SBC codec support handles wireless streaming from phones and tablets. Spotify Connect is built in, allowing direct control from the Spotify app without routing audio through Bluetooth. Wi-Fi connectivity uses 802.11a/b/g/n with WEP, WPA and WPA2 security protocols.
Wired inputs include USB-A, optical digital, RCA line-level, and a dedicated phono input for connecting a turntable directly without a separate phono stage. A 3.5mm headphone output is provided for private listening. The system can also be controlled via a companion app, the included remote control, or the on-unit buttons.
Display & Features
A 2.8-inch colour TFT display shows station information and album artwork, with adjustable brightness including a dimmed mode for bedroom use. Dual alarm clocks with snooze can wake to DAB+, FM, internet radio, or a ringtone. A sleep timer and a graphic equaliser with a dedicated Night mode for reduced bass round out the feature set.
