Pure Classic C-D6 DAB Radio Cotton White and Oak

The Pure Classic C-D6 sits in the middle of Pure's Classic series, positioned between the compact H4 tabletop radio and the C-D6i internet radio model. Where the H4 omits the CD drive and the C-D6i adds internet streaming, the C-D6 focuses on the core trio of DAB+/FM radio, CD playback and Bluetooth — all housed in a retro-styled stereo cabinet.

Design & Build

The C-D6 is a substantial unit, measuring 365 × 130 × 290 mm and weighing 3.6 kg. The Cotton White and Oak finish pairs a cream-coloured front panel with real oak veneer on the top and sides, giving it a warm, furniture-like presence. A slot-loading CD mechanism sits behind the front panel, with a telescopic aerial extending from the rear for DAB+ and FM reception.

The front panel is arranged symmetrically: a volume rotary on the left, a select/navigate rotary on the right, and a 2.4-inch colour display in the centre. Below the display sits a row of dedicated buttons for standby, source selection, back, transport controls, presets, fav, and eject. Two bass reflex ports on the rear panel supplement the low-frequency output from the two 3-inch full-range drivers mounted behind the perforated grilles either side of the front panel.

Radio & CD

The DAB+ tuner covers 174–240 MHz (Band III) with automatic station scanning, while the FM tuner spans 87.5–108 MHz. Up to 30 DAB+ and 30 FM presets can be stored, giving quick access to 60 favourite stations in total. The CD player supports standard audio CDs and MP3-encoded CD-R/CD-RW discs, making it straightforward to play burned compilations alongside commercial releases.

Connectivity

Bluetooth 5.3 is built in for wireless streaming from smartphones, tablets or laptops — stable and responsive, with quick source switching and no noticeable lag. A rear-panel USB-A input accepts USB sticks with MP3 files, while a 3.5mm auxiliary jack allows a wired connection from any line-level source. Power is supplied via an external adaptor rated at 100–240V, 50/60 Hz.

Additional Features

Two independent alarms can be set to wake via ringtone or radio, with a snooze function. A sleep timer is included for timed shut-off. The 2.4-inch colour display is dimmable for bedside use, and an equaliser allows basic tonal adjustment. A remote control is supplied for full operation from across the room.
