The Pro-Ject Connect it E MiniXLR to MiniXLR is a balanced phono cable from Pro-Ject's entry-level Connect it E interconnect range, designed to carry the analogue signal from a True Balanced turntable to a matching balanced phono stage.
This particular variant uses 4-pin MiniXLR connectors at both ends, making it the cable specified for Pro-Ject's True Balanced setups, where a turntable with a moving-coil cartridge (or the Pick it PRO Balanced) feeds a phono preamplifier equipped with MiniXLR inputs. A true balanced signal path rejects common-mode noise picked up along the cable, which is particularly valuable for the very low output voltages produced by moving-coil cartridges.
Construction
The cable uses 99.99% oxygen-free copper conductors arranged as a twisted pair, with a tin-plated copper shield, polyethylene dielectric and transparent PVC jacket. Total capacitance is 130pF at 1.23m, well suited to phono applications. Both MiniXLR connectors are gold-plated brass for stable, long-lasting contact.
Where it fits in the Connect it range
Connect it E sits at the entry point of Pro-Ject's cable family, offering the same balanced topology found further up the range at an accessible price. Other Connect it E phono variants cover 5-pin DIN to RCA, 5-pin DIN to MiniXLR and RCA to MiniXLR configurations for partnering turntables and phono stages with different connector types.
Compatibility
Use this cable to link a Pro-Ject turntable fitted with a MiniXLR tonearm output to a balanced phono preamplifier with MiniXLR inputs, such as Pro-Ject's Phono Box S3 B or DS3 B. A moving-coil cartridge or the Pick it PRO Balanced is required to take advantage of the true balanced connection.
