Polk Audio Reserve R900HT Atmos Module Black (Pair)

The Polk Audio Reserve R900HT is the dedicated Dolby Atmos height module for the Reserve speaker series — a compact, sealed-cabinet design engineered to add overhead sound to a Reserve-based home cinema system. Sold as a pair, the R900HTs sit atop compatible Reserve floorstanders (R500, R600, R700) or bookshelves (R200) for a seamlessly integrated surround layout, or can be wall-mounted for greater placement flexibility. A rear-panel placement switch optimises the acoustic tuning for either position.

Driver Technology

Each R900HT uses the same driver architecture found throughout the Reserve range, ensuring tonal consistency across the full speaker system. The 19mm Pinnacle Ring Radiator tweeter uses a ring-shaped radiating surface to distribute high frequencies widely and smoothly, reducing the sharp beaming that can narrow the listening sweet spot with conventional dome tweeters. The 100mm Turbine Cone woofer combines a lightweight foam core with a moulded turbine-pattern outer cone, increasing structural rigidity without adding mass. Both drivers are crossed at 2.1 kHz.

Height Effects and Format Support

The R900HT is designed to reproduce the overhead effects in Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, IMAX Enhanced, Auro-3D, and DTS Virtual:X soundtracks. The angled baffle directs audio upward when the speaker is mounted on top of a floorstander, creating a convincing height layer without requiring ceiling-mounted speakers. In wall-mount configuration, the keyhole slots on the rear panel allow the speaker to be hung from a single screw point, with the acoustic tuning switch set to the wall position.

Reserve Series Integration

The Reserve range is Polk Audio's flagship passive home cinema line, designed around matched drivers and cabinet volumes that keep tonal balance consistent whether a source is heard from the front, surround, or overhead position. The R900HT shares the Pinnacle Ring Radiator and Turbine Cone driver types used across the Reserve range, and is designed to integrate with any compatible Reserve speaker as a height channel.
