The Stylus 20 is the mid-tier replacement stylus in Ortofon's OM-series range, sitting above the entry-level Stylus 10 and beneath the higher-resolution Stylus 30. It fits any cartridge body in the OM family, allowing owners to upgrade or replace the stylus without removing or remounting the cartridge.
Stylus profile
A nude elliptical diamond is mounted directly to the cantilever, with a tip radius of 8/18 microns. The smaller minor radius traces high-frequency groove modulations more accurately than the bonded elliptical fitted to the Stylus 10, retrieving finer detail and improving inner-groove tracking.
Compatibility
The Stylus 20 is recommended for the Super OM 20, OM 20, OMP 20, OMB 20, LM 20, Concorde 20, LM 20H, TM 20U and TM 20H cartridge bodies. Because every OM-series body shares the same fitting, owners of any OM cartridge can step up to the Stylus 20 without changing the body, and can return to a lower or move to a higher stylus tier (Stylus 5, 5E, 10, 30, 40 or 78) at any time.
Tracking
Recommended tracking force is 1.5 g, with a working range of 1.25 to 1.75 g. Dynamic compliance is 25 micrometres per millinewton, suiting medium-mass tonearms typical of mid-priced turntables.
