True Mono for the Discerning Listener
The Ortofon 2M Mono Replacement Stylus is the purpose-built upgrade path for owners of the 2M Mono cartridge body. It features a Nude Spherical diamond tip with an 18 µm radius and an aluminium tube cantilever, designed to reproduce mono microgroove vinyl with high sonic accuracy.
At a recommended tracking force of 1.8 g (range 1.6–2.0 g), the stylus provides excellent groove contact. Output voltage is 4 mV at 1 kHz / 5 cm/sec, making it compatible with any standard moving magnet phono stage input. Internal impedance is 700 Ω and inductance is 350 mH.
Ortofon note that “if you purchase this replacement stylus to use on any other 2M cartridge, apart from the 2M Mono, the sound performance will not be true mono.” This stylus is compatible with the 2M Mono cartridge body only.
