This double LP reissue from Vinyl Passion brings together two classic Nana Mouskouri albums on 180g vinyl, cut using Direct Metal Mastering (DMM) technology and presented in a gatefold sleeve.
In New York
The first LP captures Mouskouri’s interpretations of American standards, recorded during her time in New York. Tracks include “No Moon At All”, “Smoke Gets In Your Eyes”, and “Till There Was You”, showcasing her distinctive vocal clarity across a programme of jazz and popular standards. Four bonus tracks are included: the German-language “Weisse Rosen Aus Athen” and “Ich Schau Den Weissen Wolden Nach”, plus “Einmal Weht Der Südwind Wieder” and “Ce Soir A Luna Park”.
Tragouda Hadjidakis
The second LP presents Mouskouri performing compositions by Manos Hadjidakis, the Greek composer best known for his Academy Award-winning score for Never on Sunday. The programme opens with “Ta Pedia Tou Pirea” (Children of Piraeus) and includes eight further Hadjidakis compositions. Four bonus tracks round out the set, including English and German language versions of “The White Rose of Athens”.
Pressing Details
Pressed on 180g vinyl using Direct Metal Mastering (DMM), a technique where the lacquer cutting head engraves directly into a copper disc rather than a conventional lacquer-coated aluminium blank. This reduces the number of electroplating stages in the manufacturing chain, preserving more of the original signal. The gatefold sleeve houses both LPs.
