The Naim Uniti Nova PE (Power Edition) sits at the top of the Uniti series, Naim's range of all-in-one network streaming players that combine a high-resolution DAC, network streamer, and integrated power amplifier into a single chassis. The Nova PE builds on the well-regarded standard Uniti Nova but delivers substantially more power, making it better suited to driving demanding loudspeakers or larger listening rooms.
Power and Amplification
The Nova PE uses Class D amplification to deliver 150 watts per channel into 8 ohms, rising to 250 watts per channel into 4 ohms. This represents a significant step up from the standard Nova and gives the Nova PE the headroom to drive a wide range of floorstanding and bookshelf loudspeakers with authority and control. Naim's characteristic qualities of timing, pace, and rhythm are preserved throughout, with the added benefit of greater dynamic range.
Streaming and Connectivity
The Nova PE supports an extensive list of streaming platforms and formats. Internet services include Spotify Connect, TIDAL, Qobuz, Roon Ready, and Internet Radio, alongside support for Apple AirPlay 2, Google Chromecast, Bluetooth, and UPnP. The unit connects to a home network via Ethernet (10/100 Mbps) or 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi with an internal antenna integrated into the heat sink. For local audio, the Nova PE accepts USB storage devices up to 1 TB (SSD) or 128 GB (USB stick), storing up to 20,000 tracks. High-resolution audio is supported up to 32-bit/384 kHz (WAV), 24-bit/384 kHz (FLAC, AIFF, ALAC), and DSD 64/128Fs.
Inputs and Outputs
Analogue inputs include two 5-pin DIN sockets and two RCA inputs, making it straightforward to connect a turntable or other source component. Digital inputs cover two optical TOSLink sockets (up to 24-bit/96 kHz), one coaxial RCA (up to 24-bit/192 kHz, DoP 64Fs), one coaxial BNC (up to 24-bit/192 kHz, DoP 64Fs), and an HDMI ARC input for TV audio. Outputs include a stereo power amplifier output, one 4-pin DIN, one RCA pair, a 3.5 mm headphone socket, and a separate 6.35 mm headphone output.
Display, Control, and Finish
The Nova PE features a 5-inch colour LCD display on the front panel, alongside Naim's classic large rotary volume control and four function buttons. Control is available via the included ZigBee bi-directional remote, which does not require line of sight, or via the Focal and Naim app on Android or iOS. The app provides access to all streaming services, multi-room Party Mode for up to six Naim streamers, and over-the-air firmware updates. The Nova PE is finished with a distinctive piano black lacquer top panel, distinguishing it visually from the standard brushed-aluminium Nova.
