The Moody Blues’ Collected is a career-spanning double LP compilation from Music On Vinyl, tracing the band’s journey from their early Birmingham R&B roots through to the symphonic, mellotron-driven sound that defined their later work. Pressed on 180g black vinyl across two discs, this 24-track set draws from every major phase of the group’s output, opening with the 1964 hit “Go Now” and closing with “The Voice” from 1981’s Long Distance Voyager.
A Career in Four Sides
Side one covers the band’s formative years and their breakthrough into progressive territory, from “Boulevard De La Madeleine” through to the landmark “Nights In White Satin” and “Tuesday Afternoon (Forever Afternoon)”. Side two continues through the late 1960s with deep cuts like “Legend Of A Mind” and “Gypsy (Of A Strange And Distant Time)”. The second disc picks up with “Candle Of Life” and “Melancholy Man” before moving into the band’s 1970s output, including “Question” and “The Story In Your Eyes”, and concluding with later material such as “Driftwood” and “The Voice”.
