Monitor Audio Radius 200 Bookshelf Speaker (Walnut) (Single)

The Monitor Audio Radius 200 sits within the Radius Series 3G, a compact speaker range designed for discreet home cinema installations where space is at a premium. Positioned alongside the Radius 90 bookshelf speaker, the Radius 225 slim centre channel, and the Radius 270 floorstander, the Radius 200 serves as a dedicated centre channel for rack or shelf mounting in a home theatre system. It is sold as a single speaker.

Driver Technology

The Radius 200 pairs two 4-inch (100mm) C-CAM cone mid/bass drivers with a 1-inch (25mm) C-CAM Gold Dome tweeter. The dual-driver arrangement places one driver either side of the tweeter, delivering a wide and even dispersion pattern that benefits off-axis listeners in a home cinema seating arrangement. Each driver is secured using Monitor Audio’s single through-bolt fixing method, which locks the driver directly to the rear of the cabinet for a rigid, resonance-free mount.

Cabinet & Port Design

At just 125mm wide, 330mm across, and 140mm deep (without grille), the Radius 200 is compact enough to sit on an equipment rack or shelf beneath a display. The rear-ported bass reflex enclosure uses Monitor Audio’s HiVe II port technology, which features rifled internal grooves that smooth airflow exiting the port, reducing turbulence noise at higher output levels. The result is cleaner, more controlled bass extension down to 60Hz from a very small cabinet volume.

Performance

The Radius 200 handles 100W RMS (150W system) and is rated for amplifiers in the 40–150W range. Sensitivity is 86dB (1W at 1m) into a 6-ohm nominal impedance, with a maximum sound pressure level of 106dBa. These figures make it a comfortable match for most AV receivers and integrated amplifiers in a home cinema context.
