The Radius 1 4G is the most compact speaker in Monitor Audio's Radius Series 4G, the latest generation of the British brand's long-running Radius range of compact loudspeakers. Sitting below the larger Radius 3 4G mini-monitor and alongside the Radius On-Wall 4G, it is designed for discreet AV, surround and multi-room sound systems where space is at a premium but genuine hi-fi performance is still expected.
Design and Engineering
At its heart, a newly designed 4-inch C-CAM bass-mid driver with RST III cone geometry is partnered with a fully vented 19 mm C-CAM Gold Dome tweeter. A new crossover design and through-bolt driver bracing help the sealed cabinet deliver precise, lifelike sound with exceptional clarity, controlled dispersion and low distortion; hallmarks of Monitor Audio's metal-driver expertise. Each cabinet measures just 135 x 135 x 156 mm and weighs 1.8 kg, making the Radius 1 4G a true micro-speaker.
Placement and Versatility
Engineered for versatility, the Radius 1 4G can be wall mounted using the compatible MASM and FIX-M brackets, placed on a desk or shelf with the Radius Desk Pad 4G, or floor mounted on the Radius Floor Stand 4G (all sold separately). Monitor Audio recommends amplifier power of 25 to 50 W into 8 Ohms, and a Monitor Audio subwoofer can be added for truly full-range performance.
