The Monitor Audio Gold On-Wall 6G is a new, highly flexible addition to the Gold Series 6G range. Positioned at the premium end of Monitor Audio's award-winning Gold Series, it offers a slim, wall-mounted form factor without compromising on the acoustic refinement that defines the Gold family. It is equally at home as a rear or side channel in a surround system, or deployed in a wall-mounted left, centre, or right configuration for a full home cinema installation.
Construction and Driver Technology
The Gold On-Wall 6G is a two-way, ported design built around two of Monitor Audio's most advanced proprietary technologies. The high-frequency unit is the MPD III (Micro Pleated Diaphragm) tweeter, a third-generation folded-ribbon transducer that delivers an exceptionally wide frequency response and low distortion across the critical presence and air bands. The mid-bass driver is a 6-inch C-CAM (Ceramic-Coated Aluminium Magnesium) cone treated with Monitor Audio's HDT (Hyper Detail Technology) surface finish, which increases cone stiffness while reducing resonance. Both drivers are powered by high-energy motor systems designed to maintain composure at elevated listening levels.
Cabinet and Mounting
The cabinet has a slim, low-profile form designed to sit flush against the wall surface. Integrated wall mounting fixings are built into the rear panel, removing the need for additional third-party brackets in most installations. The ported cabinet is tuned to a port frequency of 44 Hz, delivering genuine bass extension for a speaker of its compact dimensions. Magnetic grilles are supplied as standard and attach without visible fixings, preserving the clean aesthetic of the Satin White finish.
Versatility
A single Gold On-Wall 6G is sold per unit, making it straightforward to specify for any channel count. Its 4 Ohm nominal impedance and 130 to 300 W amplifier power recommendation make it compatible with a wide range of AV receivers and home cinema amplifiers. The sensitivity figure of 88 dB (2.83 V at 1 m, installed) is measured in-room, reflecting the boundary-loading benefit of wall-mounting.
