Driver Technology
The Gold C250 5G employs an MPD (Micro Pleated Diaphragm) high-frequency transducer module, the same technology found across the Gold 5G range. This driver type delivers articulate, extended high frequencies with wide dispersion, ensuring dialogue and fine detail reach every seat in the room.
A 2.5-inch (64mm) C-CAM midrange driver handles the vocal band, flanked by two 6.5-inch (165mm) RDT II (Rigid Diaphragm Technology) bass drivers. The RDT II cones use a sandwich construction combining C-CAM with carbon fibre for high rigidity and low mass, while a Dynamic Coupling Filter (DCF) at the driver-to-cabinet interface reduces distortion by decoupling unwanted mechanical energy.
Cabinet & Construction
The sealed cabinet design eliminates port noise and makes the C250 5G suitable for in-cabinet or close-to-wall placement without the bass tuning issues that ported designs can suffer in confined spaces. Internal wiring uses Pureflow silver-plated OFC copper throughout, and each driver is secured with Monitor Audio's single-bolt-through technology for enhanced mechanical rigidity and consistent contact pressure across the driver surround.
The magnetically attached grille is acoustically transparent, allowing the speaker to perform identically whether the grille is on or off. Gold-plated bi-wire terminals provide two separate input paths for those wishing to bi-wire or bi-amp.

The C250 shares its driver complement with the Gold 300 5G floorstanding speaker — the same combination of MPD tweeter, C-CAM midrange and dual RDT II bass drivers — ensuring seamless tonal matching across the front soundstage. Its wide dispersion characteristics allow it to integrate with any speaker in the Gold Series, making it equally at home in a stereo system as a centre-of-gravity dialogue channel or as part of a full 5.1 or Dolby Atmos surround array.
