Driver Technology
The CP-WT240-LCR employs a 2-way configuration built around twin 4-inch C-CAM (Ceramic-Coated Aluminium/Magnesium) bass drivers flanking a 25mm C-CAM gold dome tweeter. The twin-driver arrangement provides a greater combined radiating area than a single 6-inch bass driver, improving low-frequency output and power handling without increasing the required wall cavity depth. The gold dome tweeter pivots to allow precise aiming of the high-frequency dispersion pattern toward the listening position, which is particularly useful when the speaker must be mounted off-axis from the primary seating area.
Installation & Tuning
An airtight enclosure design protects each driver against the ingress of dust and dirt, maintaining performance over the long term. Three sets of user-adjustable controls are provided on the front baffle: a high-frequency level adjustment offering ±3 dB of treble trim, and boundary compensation switches that allow the bass response to be tailored when the speaker is mounted near corners or adjacent surfaces.
Monitor Audio's Tri-Grip fixing system replaces conventional toggle clamps with a mechanism that provides three times the surface contact area, creating a tighter seal between the speaker frame and the wall surface. This improved coupling maximises bass response and mid-range clarity while simplifying installation.
Versatile Orientation
The CP-WT240-LCR is designed for both portrait and landscape mounting, making it equally suited to left, centre, and right channel duties in a surround-sound system or as a discreet stereo music speaker. The symmetrical twin-driver layout around the central tweeter ensures balanced dispersion in either orientation.
Finishing
A magnetic steel grille is included for a clean, flush appearance once installed. The grille surface is paintable, and additional scrim material is provided to protect the drivers during the painting process. This allows the speaker to blend seamlessly with the surrounding wall finish.
