Monitor Audio CP-WT150 In-Wall Speaker (Single)

The CP-WT150 is the entry-level model in Monitor Audio's Controlled Performance in-wall speaker range. Designed for smaller rooms where discreet, high-impact audio is required, it sits below the CP-WT260 and CP-WT380 in the series and pairs naturally with the CP-CT150 in-ceiling model for full surround installations.

Driver Technology

A two-way design pairing a 5″ (130 mm) MMP II cone bass driver with a 1″ (25 mm) C-CAM gold dome tweeter. The tweeter is gold-anodised for the ideal combination of stiffness and damping, delivering detailed, extended high frequencies. It pivots on its mount so that the high-frequency output can be aimed towards the listening position even when the speaker is installed off-axis — particularly useful in surround channel roles where the speaker may be positioned to the side or behind the listener.

A three-position high-frequency level switch (+3 dB / 0 dB / −3 dB) allows fine-tuning of treble output to suit the room acoustics and personal preference. The crossover operates at 2.8 kHz with a 12 dB/octave slope.

Enclosure & Installation

Unlike open-back in-wall speakers that rely on the wall cavity for their bass loading, the CP-WT150 features a fully sealed, airtight back box moulded from mineral-filled ABS plastic. This enclosed design protects the driver system against dust and dirt ingress while delivering consistent, predictable bass performance regardless of the wall construction behind it.

Monitor Audio’s Tri-Grip fixing system uses six dog-leg clamps made from reinforced polymer, providing three times the surface area of conventional toggle-bolt clamping schemes. The result is a more secure hold against the plasterboard and a better surface seal, which maximises bass response and mid-range clarity. A WB6 pre-construction bracket is included for new-build installations.

Grille & Finish

The trimless steel-mesh grille is held in place by high-strength neodymium magnets and can be removed without tools. It is paintable — additional scrim material is provided to prevent paint from blocking the mesh — allowing the speaker to blend completely with the surrounding wall surface.
