The Bronze FX is the dedicated surround speaker in Monitor Audio's sixth-generation Bronze Series, sitting alongside the Bronze 200 floorstanders, Bronze 100 bookshelf speakers, Bronze C150 centre channel, and Bronze W10 subwoofer. Where the rest of the range uses conventional forward-firing cabinets, the FX takes a different approach — a three-sided enclosure with a switchable bipole/dipole radiation pattern, purpose-built for immersive home cinema surround channels.

Bipole/Dipole Switching

A rear-panel switch lets you toggle between bipole and dipole modes. In bipole mode the two tweeters fire in phase, producing a more direct and localised surround image suited to discrete effects. In dipole mode they fire out of phase, creating a diffuse, enveloping soundfield that wraps around the listening position — ideal for ambient surround tracks and music. This flexibility means the FX can be tuned to match your room layout and listening preferences without changing speakers.

Driver Technology

The FX carries two 25 mm C-CAM (Ceramic-Coated Aluminium/Magnesium) Gold Dome tweeters, each fitted with a Uniform Dispersion (UD) Waveguide to maintain consistent high-frequency coverage across a wide listening area. The single 5½-inch C-CAM mid-bass driver uses Monitor Audio's Damped Concentric Mode (DCM) cone geometry, which controls resonance across the diaphragm to reduce colouration and improve midrange clarity.

Cabinet & Installation

The sealed cabinet is compact and shallow — just 125 mm deep — and is specifically optimised for wall placement. Included keyhole brackets allow flush mounting without additional hardware, and the slim profile keeps the speaker discreet once installed. A magnetic grille with an acoustically transparent hexagonal cloth pattern attaches without visible fixings for a clean look. Internal wiring uses silver-plated Pureflow oxygen-free copper, and gold-plated bi-wire terminals provide a secure, low-resistance connection.
