The Bronze C150 is the dedicated centre channel speaker in Monitor Audio’s Bronze 6G series — the sixth generation of the company’s long-running entry-level range. Engineered to anchor dialogue and front-stage effects in a multi-channel home cinema system, the C150 partners with any combination of Bronze 6G left and right speakers to create a coherent, tonally matched soundstage.

Driver Technology

The C150 uses a two-way driver arrangement centred on a 25 mm C-CAM Gold Dome tweeter fitted with a Uniform Dispersion (UD) waveguide. C-CAM (Ceramic-Coated Aluminium/Magnesium) is Monitor Audio’s proprietary cone material, chosen for its combination of low mass and high rigidity. The UD waveguide controls the tweeter’s radiation pattern for consistent high-frequency coverage across a wide listening area — important in a centre channel where multiple listeners are often seated off-axis.

Flanking the tweeter are two 5½-inch C-CAM mid/bass drivers featuring updated cone geometries with Damped Concentric Mode (DCM) technology. DCM reduces unwanted resonances in the cone for a cleaner, more accurate time response. The dual-driver configuration extends the C150’s low-frequency reach and output capability beyond what a single driver of equivalent size could achieve.

Cabinet & Construction

The C150 uses a sealed (acoustic suspension) enclosure rather than a ported design. This eliminates port-related turbulence and allows the speaker to be positioned flush against a wall or inside an AV cabinet without compromising bass accuracy. Internally, the cabinet uses silver-plated Pureflow oxygen-free copper cabling for signal transfer and gold-plated bi-wire terminals at the rear for flexible connection options.

The magnetically-attached grille features Monitor Audio’s hexagonal dispersion pattern — an acoustically transparent design that allows the speaker to perform identically with or without the grille fitted. The two-tone finish pairs a dark grey satin baffle with a contrasting cabinet colour for a contemporary look that reduces the speaker’s visual bulk.

System Integration

With a nominal impedance of 8 ohms and a sensitivity of 88 dB, the C150 is straightforward to drive from any AV receiver in its price class. The recommended amplifier power range of 30–120 W gives broad compatibility from modest stereo receivers to dedicated multi-channel amplifiers. The compact 453 mm width fits comfortably on most AV furniture or wall-mounted shelves beneath a television.
