Monitor Audio Bronze 300 7G Floorstanding Speakers Black (Pair)

The Monitor Audio Bronze 300 7G is the flagship floorstanding speaker in the Bronze 7G series — the largest and most capable model in a range that has been refined across seven generations. Sitting above the Bronze 100 7G bookshelf and Bronze 200 7G floorstander, the 300 7G delivers the deepest bass extension and highest output of any speaker in the Bronze family, making it equally suited to two-channel hi-fi and as the front pair in a Bronze 7G home cinema system.

Driver Complement

The Bronze 300 7G uses a 2.5-way configuration with three dedicated drive units. A 25 mm C-CAM (Ceramic-Coated Aluminium Magnesium) Gold dome tweeter with a Uniform Dispersion (UD) waveguide handles the high frequencies, delivering detailed and smooth treble performance. Below the crossover at 2.6 kHz, a 6-inch (152 mm) C-CAM driver covers the bass and midrange, while a second identical 6-inch C-CAM driver operates as a dedicated bass unit, crossing over at 470 Hz to reinforce low-frequency output without muddying the midrange.

Cabinet Construction

For the 7G generation, Monitor Audio has moved to plywood front baffles in place of traditional MDF. The increased rigidity of plywood provides a more inert mounting surface for the drivers, reducing cabinet-induced colouration and distortion. The result is cleaner midrange reproduction and tighter bass control. The Bronze 300 7G stands 1005 mm tall with a modest footprint of 269 × 392 mm (W × D), and each speaker weighs 15.6 kg. Robust outrigger feet with spike assemblies are included for stability and floor coupling.

Bass Loading

Bass alignment uses Monitor Audio’s HiVe II (High Velocity, low noise) reflex port system, tuned to 38 Hz. The HiVe II port is designed to reduce turbulence and port noise at high output levels, allowing the 300 7G to play louder and deeper without audible chuffing. The quoted frequency response extends from 34 Hz to 30 kHz, with a continuous power handling of 150 W and a maximum peak SPL of 118 dB.

Amplifier Matching

With a sensitivity of 88 dB (2.83 V @ 1 m) and a nominal impedance of 8 Ohms (minimum 4.4 Ohms at 38 Hz), the Bronze 300 7G is a straightforward load for most amplifiers. Monitor Audio recommends amplifier power between 40 and 150 W into 8 Ohms.

Finish Options

The Bronze 300 7G is available in three finishes: Black, White, and Walnut. The white finish features exposed plywood side panels for a contemporary contrast detail, while the black and walnut models use a black-stained real wood veneer on the front baffle.
