The Monitor Audio ASB-10 is a compact active soundbar from Monitor Audio's soundbar range, designed to deliver clear and detailed sound for television and home cinema use. Built around Monitor Audio's proprietary C-CAM (Ceramic-Coated Aluminium/Magnesium) driver technology, the ASB-10 packs a sophisticated 2.0 audio system into a slim, living-room-friendly enclosure measuring just 900mm wide.
Driver Configuration & Amplification
The ASB-10 employs four 3-inch (76mm) C-CAM mid/bass drivers alongside a pair of 25mm C-CAM gold dome tweeters, supplemented by two passive bass radiators (ABRs) to extend low-frequency performance without increasing cabinet volume. Each driver pairing is powered by its own dedicated class-D amplifier — four in total — delivering a combined 100 watts of output. Each amplifier is individually DSP-trimmed and calibrated for optimum response from its assigned driver.
Audio Processing
On-board processing includes Dolby Digital decoding and Dolby Pro Logic II, ensuring broad compatibility with film, television, and gaming content. A switchable Dolby Virtual Speaker processing mode creates an expanded 3D soundstage from the single enclosure.
Connectivity
The ASB-10 provides two digital audio inputs — one optical (Toslink) and one coaxial — plus a 3.5mm analogue auxiliary input for legacy sources. Bluetooth 4.0 with aptX codec support enables wireless streaming of uncompressed CD-quality audio from smartphones and tablets. An LFE output is provided for connection to an optional subwoofer, and a USB port allows firmware updates.
Installation
The ASB-10's moulded polymer cabinet features a curved profile with a black cloth grille and brushed aluminium end panels. With a compact cross-section of just 90 × 94mm, it complements flat-screen televisions from either a tabletop position or wall-mounted via the built-in keyhole fixings. The optional WS-10 wireless subwoofer — featuring an 8-inch C-CAM driver powered by a 120-watt amplifier — connects via 2.4GHz lossless wireless link for cable-free placement.
