Milty Permaclean Kit

The Milty Permaclean Kit is a complete, easy-to-use cleaning system designed to restore vinyl records, CDs and DVDs to near-mint condition. Combining a purpose-formulated aerosol cleaning fluid with the brand’s unique double-sided Duopad applicator, it rapidly lifts and removes the accumulated grime, oils and dust that degrade playback quality and contribute to background noise. Suitable for everyday record care and occasional deep cleaning alike, the Permaclean Kit is a compact and practical solution for any vinyl enthusiast or disc collector.

Milty has been producing specialist anti-static and cleaning products for the hi-fi and broadcasting industries for decades, and the Permaclean system reflects that heritage. The kit is straightforward to use, requires no record-cleaning machine, and a single kit provides enough solution to treat approximately 40 records. A standard refill (sold separately, model MI0035M) is available once the aerosol is exhausted, making the Duopad a long-term investment.

How It Works

The Permaclean aerosol delivers a fine, controlled mist of cleaning solution directly onto the record or disc surface. The solvent formula penetrates into the grooves of a vinyl record, breaking down and suspending dust, grit, greasy fingerprints and other embedded contaminants that ordinary dry brushes cannot reach. The velvet side of the Duopad is then used to work the fluid across the surface and dislodge loosened material, before the absorbent side wipes away the fluid together with the lifted grime, leaving the surface clean and residue-free.

Permaclean works equally effectively on the playing surfaces of CDs and DVDs, removing the fingerprints and smears that cause read errors and image artefacts. Used regularly, it helps maintain consistent playback performance across an entire media collection. For enhanced results on vinyl, Milty recommends using the Permaclean Kit in conjunction with the Zerostat 3 anti-static gun (sold separately), which reduces the static charge that attracts airborne dust in the first place.

Usage Instructions

1. Hold the record or disc over a clean, flat surface.
2. Apply a short burst of Permaclean aerosol directly onto the playing surface.
3. Using the velvet side of the Duopad, gently brush in a circular motion, following the grooves on a vinyl record, to work the fluid in and loosen contaminants.
4. Turn the Duopad over and use the absorbent side to wipe the surface clean, removing the fluid and any lifted residue.
5. Allow the surface to dry fully before playing or storing.
