Meters Music
Meters Music was founded in the United Kingdom by Mark Gooday, the former managing director of Trace Elliot, who was already established in professional audio through his work with Ashdown Engineering — a British bass and guitar amplifier company whose products have been used on stage by musicians including members of U2, Foo Fighters, and Black Sabbath. The Meters Music brand was launched to bring professional-grade audio aesthetics and performance to consumer headphones and personal audio products.
The brand's most distinctive design feature is the working VU meter built into each earcup of its headphones, drawing on the visual language of professional studio equipment. Following acquisition by ERA Music Brands — a musical instruments and accessories group founded by Evan Rubinson in 2020 — the brand has expanded its product range to include true wireless earphones, wireless speaker systems, and gaming audio products.
Meters Music today offers a range of headphones, earphones, and home audio products sold under sub-lines including the OV-1 over-ear headphone series, LINX wireless systems, NOVU studio reference monitors, and the Level Up gaming audio range. The brand is distributed internationally and continues to operate with close ties to its professional audio heritage.
