The Marantz CINEMA 30 is the brand's flagship AV receiver, sitting at the top of the CINEMA series above the CINEMA 40, 50, and 60. Engineered and hand-assembled at the renowned Shirakawa Audio Works facility in Japan, the CINEMA 30 combines 11.4 channels of discrete Class A/B amplification with a comprehensive suite of the latest audio and video technologies, making it the foundation of reference-class home cinema systems.

Amplifier Design

At the heart of the CINEMA 30 is a 11.4-channel discrete Class A/B amplifier using Marantz's proprietary Current Feedback Topology. Each channel delivers 140W into 8 ohms across the full 20Hz to 20kHz bandwidth at 0.05% THD with two channels driven, rising to 175W into 6 ohms at 1kHz and 250W into 6 ohms at 1kHz with 10% distortion on a single channel. The unit features Marantz's HDAM SA-2 discrete amplifier modules, a toroidal power supply transformer, copper-plated chassis, and gold-plated RCA terminals throughout. A dedicated clock jitter reducer and dual-DAC digital-to-analogue conversion circuit support the signal path.

Audio Formats and Room Correction

The CINEMA 30 supports all major immersive audio formats: Dolby Atmos (including Dolby Atmos Music and Dolby Atmos Height Virtualisation), DTS:X and DTS:X Pro, Auro-3D, and IMAX Enhanced. Room correction is handled by Audyssey MultEQ XT32 with Dynamic EQ, Dynamic Volume, and LFC. In addition, Dirac Live room correction is available as an optional paid upgrade for those requiring additional room acoustic correction precision. The receiver offers 13 speaker terminals, four independent subwoofer outputs, and 7.2 preamp outputs.

HDMI and Video

Seven HDMI 2.1 inputs support 8K/60Hz and 4K/120Hz pass-through with ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode), VRR (Variable Refresh Rate), and Quick Frame Transport for gaming. Three HDMI outputs include one with eARC for connection to a television with compatible audio return. Dolby Vision pass-through is supported. Upscaling from 1080p and 4K to 8K is available for legacy sources. Additional analogue video connectivity includes two composite inputs and one component video input.

Analogue and Digital Inputs

The CINEMA 30 provides three analogue stereo inputs, two optical digital inputs, two coaxial digital inputs, a phono (MM) stage for turntable connection, and a USB-A port on the front panel. Multiroom functionality is supported via two analogue zone outputs and HEOS-based wireless distribution. Three DC trigger outputs and RS-232C allow custom installation integration.

Streaming and Connectivity

Built-in streaming services include Spotify Connect, Amazon Music HD, TIDAL, Deezer, Napster, SoundCloud, TuneIn Internet Radio, and SiriusXM. HEOS multi-room audio allows synchronised playback throughout the home. AirPlay 2 and Roon Ready certification provide Apple ecosystem and high-fidelity streaming integration. Wireless connectivity covers both 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi bands plus Bluetooth. Voice control is compatible with Alexa, Google Assistant, and Apple HomePod. Hi-res audio playback supports PCM up to 192kHz/24-bit, DSD at 2.8MHz and 5.6MHz, FLAC, WAV, ALAC, MP3, WMA, and AAC.

Design and Display

The CINEMA 30 retains Marantz's signature design language: a metal front panel with the iconic porthole OLED display at its centre, flanked by large input selector and volume knobs set into sculpted aluminium side cheeks. The Silver Gold finish pairs a brushed aluminium front panel with champagne gold accent knobs and feet. The two-line FLD display provides operational status at a glance. A Pure Direct mode bypasses the video circuitry to deliver the shortest, cleanest signal path for audio playback. The pre-programmed and learnable remote control (RC-051SR) is included.
