Description
The TDAI-3400 is the flagship of Lyngdorf's TDAI range of streaming integrated amplifiers, sitting above the TDAI-1120 and TDAI-2210. It combines a fully digital amplifier, a network streamer and a digital audio processor in a single Danish-built chassis, with Lyngdorf's RoomPerfect room correction at its core.
Amplification
The TDAI-3400 uses Lyngdorf's true digital amplification, processing the signal in the digital domain without analogue conversion stages. Lyngdorf states that this approach eliminates several analogue components and signal paths that are a major source of noise. The amplifier delivers 2x400W RMS into 4 Ohms and 2x200W RMS into 8 Ohms, with a maximum output current of 40A.
RoomPerfect and processing
RoomPerfect measures the acoustic character of the room using the supplied calibration microphone and adapts the system to suit it. The processor offers 32 adjustable voicings with up to 8 filters per voicing, a digital crossover with three independent output settings, and Integrated Composite Correction (ICC).
Streaming and sources
The TDAI-3400 is Roon Ready and supports TIDAL Connect with lossless audio quality, Spotify Connect, Qobuz Connect and AirPlay 2. It includes an MQA Core Decoder, a DLNA/UPnP media player and internet radio via vTuner. Maximum digital input resolution is 32-bit/384kHz.
Connectivity
Digital inputs comprise two coaxial, one AES-EBU, three optical, two USB-A and one USB-B. Analogue inputs include two single-ended RCA pairs and a microphone input for RoomPerfect calibration. Outputs include a coaxial digital output, single-ended RCA, balanced XLR and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Network connectivity covers Wi-Fi 802.11n/ac, Ethernet and Bluetooth, with RS232 control on a DB9 connector.
Modular expansion
The TDAI-3400 can be expanded with two optional modules: an HDMI 2.1 module providing two inputs and one ARC/eARC output, and a high-end analogue input module adding an MM phono stage and further line-level analogue inputs.
