The MP-60 2.1 is Lyngdorf Audio's flagship surround sound processor, designed and manufactured in Denmark. It sits at the top of the company's home cinema range, pairing Lyngdorf's RoomPerfect room-correction technology with the latest HDMI 2.1 connectivity and full immersive audio decoding. The "2.1" designation marks the second-generation MP-60, updated with HDMI 2.1 inputs and outputs.
Immersive Audio Processing
The MP-60 2.1 processes up to 16 channels, supporting Dolby Atmos, DTS:X Pro and AURO-3D, with up to 14 channels available for DTS:X Pro and AURO-3D. Post-processing options include Dolby Surround, AURO-MATIC and DTS Neural:X, allowing stereo and legacy surround material to be expanded across a full immersive speaker layout.
RoomPerfect Room Correction
Lyngdorf's RoomPerfect system measures the interaction between the loudspeakers and the room and adapts the system's response to the acoustics of the listening space. The processor provides 32 adjustable voicings, with shelving, high-pass, low-pass and parametric filters for fine-tuning each installation.
HDMI 2.1 and Video
Five HDMI 2.1 inputs (HDCP 2.3) and two HDMI outputs handle modern video formats, accepting 8K30 RGB/YCbCr 4:4:4 10-bit, 8K60 YCbCr 4:2:0 and 4K120 4:4:4 10-bit high-frame-rate video. The HDMI stage supports a 40 Gbps fixed rate link, eARC, VRR, ALLM, HDR, Dolby Vision and HLG.
Connectivity and Streaming
Beyond HDMI, the MP-60 2.1 offers AES/EBU, coaxial and optical S/PDIF and USB audio inputs, plus 16 balanced XLR analogue outputs and a coaxial digital zone output. Network streaming includes AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect with Dolby Atmos Music, Roon Ready and DLNA/uPnP, alongside internet radio. Custom-installation control is covered by RS232, IR inputs and output, and trigger inputs and outputs.
Expandability
The processor can be fitted with optional DCI-compliant AES/EBU modules, including 16-channel digital input and output options and an AES67 input/output module, allowing the MP-60 2.1 to operate entirely in the digital domain where required. It can be rack-mounted (4U) or used freestanding.
