The Grandview In-Ceiling Trap Door 16:9 is a fully recessed motorised screen for installation within a suspended ceiling. When not in use, the screen housing sits entirely above the ceiling line and a motorised trap door closes to give a completely flush, clean finish. When deployed, the trap door opens automatically and the Multiply screen descends to the viewing position. This screen is suited to rooms where visual tidiness is a priority and no surface-mounted casing is acceptable.
Screen Material
The Multiply screen material is used throughout the In-Ceiling range and provides a flat, accurate projection surface suitable for Full HD 1080p projection. The motor section and ceiling trim are acoustically isolated from the body of the housing, reducing any operational noise transmitted through the ceiling structure.
Motor and Controls
The motorised trap door operates in sequence with the screen deployment so that both the door and the screen move together as a single action. A built-in 12V trigger enables automatic deployment, and an IR remote control is included for standalone operation.
Installation
The housing requires a ceiling void of sufficient depth to accommodate both the rolled screen and the trap door mechanism. Installation is typically carried out during initial construction or significant refurbishment. Available in 7ft, 8ft and 9ft diagonal sizes.
