The SR325 sits at the top of Grado's Classic Series, the affordable open-back range built and assembled in Brooklyn, New York. It is distinguished from the rest of the line by a precision-machined aluminium housing, a material chosen to reduce unwanted resonance while supporting a fast and controlled presentation.
Construction
The aluminium earpiece housing is the SR325's defining feature within the Classic Series. The headphone uses Grado's Signature Silver headband assembly, developed from the same engineering platform as the higher-end Signature Gold system, with engraved reinforced polymer gimbals and junction blocks. A genuine leather headstrap with contrasting white stitching improves comfort, and an internal steel spring band lets the listener adjust clamping pressure. The SR325 ships with Grado F cushions.
Driver
At the heart of the SR325 is Grado's 44mm X2 dynamic driver, which combines a Mylar diaphragm, a copper voice coil and a rare earth magnet system engineered for efficiency and control. The tuning emphasises articulation and speed, delivering tight bass, forward midrange clarity and crisp high-frequency extension.
Open-Back Design
As an open-air on-ear design, the SR325 lets air move freely behind the driver for an open, spacious sound. The open construction means it is intended for home listening rather than isolation. It is supplied with Grado's Signature Silver cable, which reduces weight and improves flexibility compared with earlier designs, terminating in a 3.5mm connector with an attached 6.35mm (1/4 inch) adapter.
