Grado GW100x Wireless Headphones

The GW100x sits at the heart of Grado's Wireless Series as the company's only full-size Bluetooth headphone, slotting alongside the GT220 wireless in-ear. Grado claims the distinction of producing the world's first open-back Bluetooth headphone with the original GW100, and the GW100x builds on that foundation with meaningful upgrades to driver technology, battery life and wireless performance.

4th-Generation X Series Drivers

Inside each ear cup is a 44mm dynamic driver from Grado's 4th-generation X Series. These drivers feature a more powerful magnetic circuit, a voice coil with decreased effective mass, and a reconfigured diaphragm — refinements shared with Grado's wired X Series models such as the SR60x and RS1x. The result is improved efficiency and reduced distortion compared to the previous GW100. Each pair is matched to within ±0.1 dB, maintaining the precise driver-to-driver consistency that Grado applies across its headphone range.

Bluetooth 5.2 & Battery Life

The GW100x uses Bluetooth 5.2 with an upgraded chipset designed to improve data flow while maintaining a stable connection at distances up to 10 metres. Battery life has been substantially extended over the original GW100: the 850 mAh cell delivers approximately 46 hours of playback at 50% volume, charged via USB-C.

Open-Back Design

The open-back housing is fundamental to the Grado sound, allowing the drivers to breathe and produce a natural, spacious presentation that closed-back designs cannot replicate. For the GW100x, Grado has redesigned the open-back enclosure to reduce sound leakage by up to 60% compared to previous models, making the headphones more practical for shared environments while preserving the acoustic benefits of the open-air design.

Controls & Connectivity

On-ear controls provide playback, volume adjustment and call management without reaching for a phone. A built-in microphone handles voice calls and voice assistant activation. A wired connection cable is included for passive listening when the battery is flat or when a wired source is preferred.
