Grado GT220 Wireless In-Ear Headphones

The Grado GT220 is the first true wireless earphone from the Brooklyn-based headphone maker, bringing the company’s signature sound into a pocketable, cable-free form factor. Sitting alongside the GW100x wireless on-ear model in Grado’s wireless range, the GT220 applies the same driver-tuning philosophy that has defined the brand’s wired headphones for decades — but rethought entirely for an in-ear, sealed-back design.

Driver Design

Each earbud houses a custom 8mm polyethylene terephthalate (PET) dynamic driver, specifically tuned by Grado for the GT220’s high-density, acoustically optimised polycarbonate housings. The result is a frequency response of 20Hz–20kHz with a 32-ohm impedance — delivering the midrange neutrality and bass extension that Grado listeners expect, without the open-back sound leakage of the company’s traditional designs.

Wireless Connectivity

Bluetooth 5.0 provides the wireless link, supporting aptX, AAC and SBC codecs for broad device compatibility. The dual-microphone system with cVc noise reduction handles calls clearly, while voice assistant integration (Siri and Google Assistant) is built in. A bifurcated capacitive touch system splits controls across both earbuds: the left side handles phone and voice functions, while the right side manages music playback.

Battery & Charging

The GT220 earbuds hold over six hours of playback per charge, while the compact charging case stores another five full charges for a total system endurance exceeding 36 hours. The case charges via USB-C or any Qi-certified wireless charging pad, reaching full capacity from empty in under two hours.

Fit & Build

At just 5g per earbud, the GT220 is designed for extended listening sessions. A twist-to-lock mechanism secures each bud in the ear, creating a tight seal that plays a direct role in bass reproduction and passive noise isolation. Multiple silicone eartip sizes are included to accommodate different ear shapes.
