Goldring Extract Stylus Cleaning Kit

The Goldring Extract is a three-piece stylus cleaning kit designed for routine maintenance and deep cleaning of turntable cartridge styli. Goldring, a British cartridge manufacturer with over a century of heritage, developed the Extract to complement its range of moving magnet and moving coil cartridges, though the kit is compatible with all stylus and cartridge types regardless of brand.

The Extract kit includes three purpose-built tools housed in a handcrafted storage box:

The 10x magnifying lens features a compact single-hinge design for inspecting the stylus tip before and after cleaning. At 10x magnification, it provides sufficient detail to identify dust accumulation, residue build-up, and debris that may affect tracking performance.

The anti-static stylus cleaning brush uses a resilient, non-shedding bristle pad designed for gentle dry cleaning. The brush is drawn horizontally from back to front across the stylus tip to remove dry dust and fluff without risking damage to the cantilever.

The cleaning gel pot contains a specially formulated transparent gel for removing stubborn residue that brushing alone cannot shift. The gel is safe for stylus and cantilever bonds, and its transparency allows visual confirmation of extracted debris. Once the gel surface becomes saturated, it can be refreshed by rinsing under water and air-drying.

Regular stylus cleaning helps maintain accurate tracking, preserves sound quality, and reduces unnecessary wear on both the stylus and vinyl records. A contaminated stylus tip can cause mistracking, distortion, and accelerated groove wear.
