Goldring E3 Replacement Stylus

The Goldring E3 Replacement Stylus is the genuine upgrade stylus for the Goldring E3 moving magnet cartridge. Part of Goldring's four-model E Series range of budget-to-mid-price cartridges, the E3 uses a super-elliptical diamond profile that extracts more detail from the groove wall than the standard elliptical stylus fitted to the E2 or the spherical tip on the E1.

Super-Elliptical Diamond Profile

The E3 stylus uses a bonded super-elliptical diamond with a 0.3 × 0.7 mil contact radius, mounted on a lightweight aluminium cantilever. The narrower, more precisely shaped contact area traces high-frequency groove modulations more accurately than a standard elliptical stylus, resulting in improved detail retrieval, reduced distortion, and lower sibilance on demanding vocal recordings. A pre-set stylus angle eliminates the need for manual horizontal tracking angle adjustment during fitting.

Goldring E Series

The E Series is designed around Goldring's Magnetic Duplex Technology and Expert Adjustment system, engineered to work with the medium-to-high effective mass tonearms found on the majority of budget to mid-price turntables. Each model in the range shares the same body and generator assembly — the stylus profile is the differentiating factor. The E1 uses a spherical tip, the E2 a standard elliptical, the E3 this super-elliptical, and the E4 sits above as the top of the range, each offering progressively finer groove contact and greater information retrieval.
