The Goldring E2 replacement stylus is a genuine Goldring component designed for the E2 moving magnet cartridge. It sits in the middle of Goldring's E Series range, stepping up from the entry-level E1 with its upgrade from a carbon-fibre cantilever to a stiffer, lighter aluminium cantilever. The stylus retains the same bonded spherical diamond profile as the E1, but the aluminium cantilever allows more accurate tracing of mid-to-high frequencies, resulting in greater detail retrieval and reduced distortion during loud passages.

E Series Range Position

Goldring's E Series comprises the E1, E2, and E3, all sharing the same cartridge body and Magnetic Duplex Technology dual-magnet generator. The E1 pairs a spherical stylus with a carbon-fibre cantilever. The E2 upgrades to an aluminium cantilever while keeping the spherical tip. The E3 steps up further with a bonded elliptical stylus on an aluminium cantilever. All three are cross-compatible: fitting an E2 stylus to any E Series body gives E2-level performance, and upgrading to the E3 stylus later requires no cartridge swap.

Magnetic Duplex Technology

The E Series generator uses Goldring's Magnetic Duplex Technology, a dual-magnet assembly designed to replicate stereo information more accurately than conventional single-magnet moving magnet designs. This is shared across all E Series models and is retained when swapping styli.

Compatibility and Installation

The E2 stylus is user-replaceable and clips directly onto any Goldring E Series cartridge body (E1, E2, or E3). No tools or alignment adjustment are required. The cartridge body itself is designed for medium-to-high effective mass tonearms, making it suitable for the majority of budget-to-mid-priced turntables.
