The Goldring D22GX is a replacement stylus assembly for the Goldring 1000 series moving magnet cartridge range. It features a Gyger I diamond profile — a vital-shank, nude diamond with a polyhedral, line-contact shape that combines very low tip mass with a large groove contact area whilst remaining narrow from front to back. This geometry enables superbly articulate groove tracing and detailed high-frequency retrieval.
Compatibility & Upgrade Path
The D22GX is a direct replacement for the stylus on a Goldring 1022GX cartridge, and serves as an upgrade path for owners of the 1006, 1010, 1012, 1012GX, 1020 or 1022 cartridges. It also replaces and upgrades the D12GX and D06 stylus assemblies. For those seeking a further step up, the D42 stylus assembly can be fitted to the same cartridge body to reach the specification level of the flagship 1042.
Design & Construction
The stylus assembly is a user-replaceable, slip-on unit designed for straightforward fitting to any cartridge body in the Goldring 1000 range. No tools are required — the assembly slides onto the cartridge body and locks into place. This makes stylus replacement a simple task that can be carried out at home without needing to realign the cartridge.
