The Focal Theva N°2 sits in Focal's entry-level Theva range, slotting in beneath the Aria line yet carrying many of the technologies developed higher up the French manufacturer's catalogue. It is a slim three-way floorstanding loudspeaker built around 5-inch (13cm) drivers, a first for a Focal home floorstander, giving the cabinet an unusually narrow and elegant footprint that integrates discreetly into a living room.
Slatefiber drivers made in France
Two 5-inch Slatefiber bass drivers and a dedicated 5-inch Slatefiber midrange handle the lower and middle registers. Slatefiber is Focal's own cone material, formed from recycled non-woven carbon fibres sandwiched between two layers of thermoplastic polymer. The result is a cone that is light, rigid and well damped, delivering a dynamic and balanced sound. All drivers are manufactured in Focal's workshops in France.
TNF aluminium-magnesium tweeter
Treble is reproduced by a 1-inch (25mm) aluminium-magnesium inverted dome TNF tweeter. The TNF suspension uses Poron, a shape-memory material that reduces distortion across the critical 2,000Hz to 3,000Hz region, for smooth and clear high frequencies.
Designed to disappear into the room
A tilted plinth provides time alignment so the soundstage stays focused on the listening position, while the slender cabinet and magnetic fabric grille let the speaker blend into the home. The Black high-gloss finish offers a timeless, sophisticated look that suits both dedicated two-channel hi-fi systems and Dolby Atmos home cinema set-ups.
