The Focal Theva 5.1.2 Home Cinema Speaker Package brings Dolby Atmos capability to your living room with a complete, tonally matched system of six individually engineered speakers. Positioned as the entry to Focal's home cinema range, the Theva package replaces the well-regarded Chora line and is manufactured entirely at Focal's workshops in Saint-Etienne, France.
What's Included
The 5.1.2 package comprises two Theva N3-D floorstanding speakers with integrated up-firing Dolby Atmos drivers, one Theva Center channel speaker, two Theva N1 bookshelf speakers used as surrounds, and one Sub 600P active subwoofer. Every component in the system shares the same acoustic vocabulary, built around Focal's proprietary Slatefiber cone technology and TNF tweeter design.
Slatefiber and TNF Technology
Slatefiber is a composite cone material incorporating recycled carbon fibres woven into a thermoplastic matrix. The result is a cone that is simultaneously light, rigid, and well-damped: three qualities that are normally in tension with one another in speaker design. Focal applies Slatefiber to the bass and midrange drivers across the entire Theva range, ensuring tonal consistency from the floorstanders through to the surround speakers.
The TNF (Tuned Mass Filter) inverted dome tweeter is derived from Focal's reference-grade designs. Constructed from an aluminium and magnesium alloy with Poron foam suspension, the TNF tweeter maintains low distortion at high frequencies and delivers the extended, smooth treble response for which Focal speakers are known.
Theva N3-D Floorstanding Speakers
The N3-D is a three-way floorstanding speaker with two 6.5-inch Slatefiber bass drivers, one 6.5-inch Slatefiber midrange driver, and one 1-inch TNF tweeter. An additional 5.1-inch (13 cm) Slatefiber driver fires upward from a sculpted enclosure at the top of the cabinet, serving as the height channel for Dolby Atmos and DTS:X content. A tilted base positions the drivers to achieve optimal time alignment between the tweeter and midrange, improving coherence across the listening window. Crossovers are set at 270 Hz and 2700 Hz.
Theva Center
The Theva Center is a two-way sealed speaker with two 6.5-inch Slatefiber drivers flanking the central 1-inch TNF tweeter, crossing over at 2100 Hz. The sealed (infinite baffle) cabinet allows flexible placement close to the screen or on a shelf without tonal degradation from boundary reinforcement. A removable base redirects sound precisely toward the listening position for improved dialogue clarity.
Theva N1 Surround Speakers
The Theva N1 bookshelf speakers serve as the surround channels. Each is a two-way bass reflex design with a rear port, housing one 6.5-inch Slatefiber driver and one 1-inch TNF tweeter crossing at 3000 Hz. Their compact footprint allows placement on stands, shelves, or wall brackets.
Sub 600P Subwoofer
The Sub 600P is a sealed active subwoofer powered by a Class D amplifier rated at 300W RMS (600W dynamic). Its 12-inch (30 cm) Polyflex woofer is designed for controlled bass extension in the home cinema context, with a variable crossover frequency adjustable between 40 Hz and 200 Hz. The sealed cabinet provides a tight, well-defined low frequency character suited to both film soundtracks and music.
Finish and Design
The Black version features a high-gloss lacquer finish on the floorstanders and center speaker. All cabinets accept magnetically attached grilles. The Theva N1 surround speakers are available in black only, ensuring a consistent appearance throughout the system.
