The FiiO LL-RC is a replacement headphone cable designed for FiiO's dual-entry over-ear headphones, including the FT5, FT3, and JT1. Using secondary-refined monocrystalline copper wire sourced from Furukawa Denki Industrial Co., Ltd in Japan, the LL-RC sits at the upper end of FiiO's cable accessories range, offering a materials-forward construction aimed at listeners who want to complement a high-quality headphone with an equally high-quality cable.
Furukawa Monocrystalline Copper
The inner conductors use genuine Furukawa certified monocrystalline copper, a material produced through a secondary refinement process that minimises pores, impurities, and grain boundaries within the copper. The reduced discontinuities allow audio signals to travel more freely through the conductor, with FiiO citing improved transparency and clarity as a result. The copper comes with official certification from Furukawa Denki Industrial Co., Ltd, one of Japan's oldest wire and cable manufacturers.
Construction and Build Quality
Each LL-RC is built from four strands totalling 560 individual wires, drawn down to 0.05mm diameter and arranged in a coaxial braid. The braid geometry is designed to reduce signal interference whilst maintaining flexibility across the full 3-metre length. Internally, FiiO uses silver-containing lead-free solder with crystalline one-way welding at the terminations, a process intended to maintain directional signal consistency and minimise junction resistance. The outer jacket is a braided nylon protective sheath, chosen for its flexibility and durability under repeated bending and rolling.
Connectors and Compatibility
At the source end, the LL-RC terminates in a single 3.5mm TRS plug with an aluminium barrel housing. The headphone end splits into two separate 3.5mm mono connectors, labelled L and R, which plug individually into the left and right cups of compatible FiiO over-ear headphones. A Velcro cable tie is included for cable management when the cable is not in use.
The 3m Version
The 3-metre length is intended for listening scenarios where a greater reach is needed, including desktop listening rigs where the headphone amplifier or DAC sits further from the listening position, as well as studio and recording applications. FiiO also offers the LL-RC in a 1.5-metre version for portable and everyday use.
