Flagship Tribrid Architecture

The FiiO FX17 is FiiO's flagship universal in-ear monitor, built around a 13-driver tribrid configuration. Each side houses a single 10mm dynamic driver with a Lithium-Magnesium alloy diaphragm for deep, textured bass; four custom Knowles balanced armature drivers covering the midrange and lower treble; and eight Sonion electrostatic drivers handling everything above 6 kHz. A 5-way hybrid physical and electronic crossover manages the hand-off between driver types, and FiiO's S Turbo acoustic design optimises airflow within the shell to maximise dynamic response from the low-frequency driver.

Premium Titanium Build and Comfort

The shells are machined from highly polished pure Titanium, giving the FX17 a distinctive industrial-luxe appearance while keeping the total weight to around 12 grams per earpiece. MMCX connectors are colour-keyed red and blue for left and right channel identification. The angled nozzle seats the monitors securely in the ear canal, making them a practical choice for extended listening sessions. The included leather carrying case provides suitable protection when travelling.

Versatile Cable System

The FX17 ships with a 360-strand tribrid cable woven from silver, copper, and gold conductors in an 8-wire braided configuration. The cable uses FiiO's swappable plug system: a 4.4mm balanced termination is pre-installed, and a 3.5mm single-ended adaptor is included in the box. A third adaptor houses a USB-C dongle DAC capable of delivering over 30 mW of power, enabling direct high-quality playback from smartphones and laptops without a separate portable amplifier. The box also includes 22 ear tip pairs, SpinFit variants, foam tips, double-flange options, a cleaning cloth, MMCX removal tool, and a personalised serial number plaque.

Sound Signature

The FX17 delivers a balanced, highly detailed presentation with a natural, punchy character. The dynamic driver provides bass extension to around 24 Hz with a flat, controlled response above that point, while the Knowles balanced armature units offer rich midrange texture and clarity. The eight Sonion electrostatic drivers resolve fine high-frequency detail with low distortion and exceptional speed. The overall signature sits between monitor-like neutrality and a musical, engaging presentation, making the FX17 equally well-suited to critical listening and extended, relaxed sessions.
