Large-Scale Planar Magnetic Driver
At the heart of the FT1 Pro is a FiiO-developed planar magnetic driver measuring 95 x 86mm, substantially larger than many competitors in this price range. The diaphragm is an ultra-thin 1µm film with dual sapphire and aluminium coating on both sides, giving it high rigidity while keeping mass extremely low. This design enables fast transient response and low distortion across the full audio spectrum. A patented uniform magnetic field design surrounds the diaphragm on both sides, applying a more evenly distributed driving force and further reducing harmonic distortion compared with conventional asymmetric planar arrangements.
28nm-Grade Process Technology
FiiO manufactures the FT1 Pro's planar driver using the same photolithographic etching processes found in semiconductor fabrication, described as 28nm-grade precision. This level of manufacturing accuracy ensures the conductor traces on the diaphragm are laid down with extreme consistency, resulting in tighter unit-to-unit matching, lower channel imbalance, and a more uniform frequency response than can be achieved with conventional planar fabrication methods.
Hi-Res Audio Certified
The FT1 Pro achieves Hi-Res Audio certification from both the Japan Audio Society (JAS) and the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), confirming its ability to reproduce frequencies well beyond the standard 20kHz audio band. With a stated frequency response of 7Hz to 40kHz, the FT1 Pro captures both the sub-bass foundation and the finest high-frequency detail in recordings.
Comfort and Build
The headband uses steel slide rails with 12 levels of height adjustment, ensuring a secure and personalised fit for a wide range of head sizes. The contact surface of the headband uses suede material for comfort during long listening sessions. The ear pads combine breathable fabric on the face with protein leather sides, balancing ventilation with a gentle acoustic seal. A three-axis adaptive headband structure allows the ear cups to rotate freely, accommodating the natural angle and contour of each user's ears.
Cables and Connectivity
The FT1 Pro is supplied with two detachable 1.5-metre cables: a 3.5mm single-ended cable and a 4.4mm balanced cable. Both are 24AWG oxygen-free copper with silver plating, providing low resistance and excellent signal fidelity. The headphones connect via dual 3.5mm TS sockets on each ear cup, and a 3.5mm to 6.35mm adaptor is included for use with headphone amplifiers fitted with the larger jack.
