Description
The FiiO FD11 sits at the entry point of FiiO's single-dynamic-driver in-ear monitor range, offering a purpose-built 10mm driver with materials drawn from higher-end models in the FD and FF lineups. It is designed to deliver accurate, engaging sound at a price that makes high-fidelity portable listening accessible to a wide audience.
10mm Carbon-Based Dynamic Driver
At the heart of the FD11 is a 10mm dynamic driver sharing the same carbon-based diaphragm material used in FiiO's more expensive FH15 and FF5 models. The carbon diaphragm combines high stiffness with low mass, enabling precise transient response and minimal self-resonance during playback. The driver uses a dual-cavity rear chamber that allows damping control in both the inner and outer cavities, reducing distortion and permitting freer diaphragm movement for more resolving bass and cleaner treble.
Asymmetric Dual Magnetic Circuit
The FD11 employs a second-generation asymmetric magnetic circuit system combining both internal and external magnets using N52 neodymium elements. This dual-circuit design generates a stronger, wider magnetic field than a single-circuit arrangement, resulting in a higher magnetic field density that drives the diaphragm more powerfully. The outcome is a more robust transient response, better handling of dynamic peaks, and lower distortion compared to conventional single-magnet dynamic drivers at this price point.
C-Shaped Acoustic Flute
A C-shaped acoustic flute is machined into the earpiece shell to manage internal airflow and control resonance. As air moves through the cavity during playback, the flute increases effective air viscosity and lowers the resonance frequency of the chamber, improving mid-bass and sub-bass cohesion. The result is a tighter, more controlled low end with better definition through bass transients.
Shell Design and Build Quality
The earpiece shells are formed using a liquid die-cast zinc alloy process, then polished and electroplated to a smooth, reflective finish. The triangular ergonomic shape is modelled on the natural contour of the ear canal opening, distributing pressure evenly and reducing fatigue during extended listening sessions. The 2-pin 0.78mm connector is a widely supported detachable standard, allowing cable upgrades without proprietary restrictions.
Cable and Accessories
The included cable uses four strands of high-purity oxygen-free copper, each comprising 120 individual wire cores. The OFC construction minimises internal resistance and supports clean signal transmission. Termination is via a 3.5mm gold-plated plug. The package includes three sizes of balanced ear tips, a quick-start guide, and the detachable cable.
