The BTR-12 is EverSolo's handset for its DMP series network players, available separately for owners who prefer physical controls to hand rather than the player's touchscreen or the mobile app.
Infrared and Bluetooth in one handset
The BTR-12 uses two transmission methods. The power button works over infrared so the player can be switched on and off, while every other control function is sent over Bluetooth. Those Bluetooth commands do not depend on line of sight, so the handset only needs to be pointed at the player for power on and off.
Compatibility and pairing
The BTR-12 is intended for EverSolo's DMP series only, including the DMP-A6, DMP-A6 Master Edition, DMP-A6 Gen 2, DMP-A6 Master Edition Gen 2 and DMP-A8. Pairing is carried out from the handset: point it at the player from within 30cm, then press and hold the play/pause and volume down keys together until the indicator light blinks. The player's Bluetooth antenna must be correctly fitted before the remote is used.
Controls and build
The keypad covers power on and off, source, info, play/pause, previous and next track, play mode, screen on and off, mute, an FN key and a volume rocker. The casing is black plastic, the handset measures 15.5 x 3.9 x 1.4cm and it weighs 54g. Power comes from two AAA batteries, which are not supplied.
