Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975 was the Eagles' first compilation album, originally released in 1976. It draws together the singles and best-known songs from the band's first four studio albums, covering their initial run from 1971 to 1975.
The Music
The collection opens with "Take It Easy" and runs through ten tracks that defined the Eagles' blend of country rock, soft rock and classic American rock, including "Desperado", "Lyin' Eyes", "One Of These Nights", "Tequila Sunrise" and "Best Of My Love". The original recordings were produced by Glyn Johns and Bill Szymczyk.
A Record-Breaking Release
The album became one of the best-selling records of all time. It has been certified 40 times Platinum by the RIAA, and for many years stood as the best-selling album of the 20th century in the United States.
