Dr. Dre - The Chronic (2LP) [2023] Vinyl

The Chronic is Dr. Dre's debut solo album, released on 15 December 1992 through Death Row Records and Interscope Records. It established the G-funk sound that shaped West Coast hip hop for the rest of the decade, and it served as the launch pad for Snoop Doggy Dogg, who features across most of the record.

The album reached number three on the Billboard 200 and has been certified triple platinum in the United States on sales of three million copies. In 2019 the Library of Congress selected it for preservation in the National Recording Registry as culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant. The sleeve is a homage to Zig-Zag rolling papers, and the title comes from a slang term for high grade cannabis.

This Pressing

This is the 30th anniversary reissue, released on 21 April 2023 by Aftermath Entertainment, Death Row Records and Interscope Records under catalogue number 00602455099969. It is a two disc set on black vinyl, manufactured in the EU, with all 16 tracks spread across four sides. The sleeve carries a Parental Advisory explicit content notice.
