The Denon PMA-600NE is a two-channel integrated stereo amplifier built around Denon's Advanced HC-TR (High Current Transistor) Single Push Pull circuit. Rated at 45 watts per channel into 8 ohms across the full audio bandwidth, or 70 watts into 4 ohms, the amplifier is designed for a wide range of bookshelf and floorstanding loudspeakers.
Circuit Design & Power
The amplifier uses a High Current Dynamic Power Supply and a discrete Power Amp construction. Total harmonic distortion is specified at 0.02%. A Source Direct mode is provided for listeners who prefer to bypass the tone control stage. Solid heat sinks manage thermal dissipation from the output stage.
Analogue & Digital Connectivity
Five analogue inputs are provided, including a built-in MM phono stage with 47 kohm input impedance and 2.5mV sensitivity. The phono stage achieves a signal-to-noise ratio of 84dB; the high-level inputs reach 105dB. Two optical and one coaxial S/PDIF input feed an onboard PCM5141 DAC, accepting signals up to 192kHz/24-bit. A subwoofer pre-out allows integration with an active subwoofer. A headphone output is included.
Wireless & System Integration
Bluetooth is built in for wireless audio streaming. The PMA-600NE supports HEOS Link compatibility via IR, and includes Remote Control Bus In/Out connections for integration with compatible Denon source components. An Analogue Mode is available for source-direct listening.
Controls
Separate bass and treble controls allow adjustment of ±8dB at 100Hz and 10kHz respectively, alongside a balance control. The front panel features a metal construction. Auto power-off reduces standby consumption to 0.3 watts.
