Danny Elfman - The Nightmare Before Christmas (OST) [Bone & Aqua Coloured Vinyl] (2LP)

Danny Elfman wrote the music, the lyrics and the original score for Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas, and this double LP presents the complete 1993 soundtrack album across four sides. Disc one is pressed on opaque bone vinyl and disc two on opaque aqua, housed in a gatefold sleeve with die-cut paper inner sleeves and picture labels.

The Album

Released on 12 October 1993 by Walt Disney Records alongside the stop-motion film, the album carries Elfman in a double role: he composed the songs and score, and he sings Jack Skellington. Catherine O'Hara performs Sally and Shock, Ken Page sings Oogie Boogie, Glenn Shadix the Mayor, Paul Reubens Lock and Ed Ivory Santa. The soundtrack has since been certified Platinum in the United States and Silver in the United Kingdom.

All 20 tracks are present, from the "Overture" and the ensemble number "This Is Halloween" through "Jack's Lament", "What's This?", "Oogie Boogie's Song" and "Sally's Song" to the closing "End Title".

This Pressing

Walt Disney Records issued this limited edition in 2022 under catalogue number D004048401, in a run of 5,000 copies. Both discs are cut at 33 1/3 RPM and carry full-colour picture labels showing Jack Skellington's face.
