VEGA is DALI's entry into the one-box hi-fi system category, launched at High End Vienna 2026 after four years of development. It brings the Danish company's loudspeaker engineering into a single cabinet: eight active drivers, 400 watts of Class D amplification, two large passive radiators and the BluOS streaming platform, behind a woven fabric grille and a real wood veneer top panel.
Eight drivers and 400 watts
Four 25 mm soft dome tweeters and four 4.5 inch paper and wood fibre mid/bass cones are arranged as a stereo pair on the front of the cabinet and a matching pair on the rear. Each driver has its own channel of the Class D Bridge-Tied Load amplifier, rated at 50 watts per channel for a total of 400 watts, and the crossover is handled actively at 2,400 Hz. A rectangular passive radiator measuring 3 x 6 inches sits at each end of the cabinet, tuned to 32 Hz, supporting a quoted frequency range of 32 Hz to 22,700 Hz. Maximum output is 110 dB at one metre.
Adaptive Stereo Enhancement
DALI's own Adaptive Stereo Enhancement (ASE) analyses the incoming stereo signal in real time and adapts it to widen the soundstage, addressing the usual limitation of a one-box system: the short distance between the left and right channels. The front and rear facing drivers give adaptive dispersion, so VEGA works with the room rather than firing in one direction only.
Tabletop or wall, landscape or portrait
VEGA can stand on a cabinet or shelf, or be wall mounted in either landscape or portrait orientation using the brackets and mounting templates supplied in the box. An orientation sensor detects how the unit has been installed and reassigns the channels to suit, so a portrait installation plays the left channel from the front drivers and the right channel from the rear drivers. A rear wall distance setting tailors the rearward output to free space, near wall or close to corner positions, and the display rotates to match the chosen orientation.
Streaming and connections
Streaming runs on BluOS, with support for files up to 24-bit/192 kHz as well as MQA and DSD256, and access to Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, Apple AirPlay 2 and internet radio through the BluOS app. Bluetooth streaming supports the aptX HD codec. The connection panel carries an HDMI ARC input for a television, an optical TOSLINK input, a stereo analogue RCA input and a USB socket for audio from a drive, along with a subwoofer output filtered at 120 Hz for anyone who wants more bass extension. Ten BluOS presets can be assigned in the app to the five preset buttons on the top panel, five on a single press and five more on a double press, and up to 40 presets in total can be called up from the Presets menu on the display.
Materials and control
The cabinet combines anodised aluminium, woven fabric and a real wood veneer top panel, finished here in Dark Oak with black anodised end caps. Volume and menu navigation run through a machined dial with a glass top turning on a ball bearing, with a small display alongside it, and a remote control is included.
