The Rubikore Cinema is the dedicated home cinema loudspeaker in DALI's Rubikore range, a series that brings technologies developed for the flagship KORE down into a more attainable line-up. Designed as an LCR (left, centre, right) solution, a single model can serve the front three channels of a surround system, delivering front and centre audio with the detail and dynamics of dedicated hi-fi.
Construction
Each Rubikore Cinema uses two 6.5 inch low-loss bass and midrange drivers built around DALI's Clarity Cone diaphragm, which is engineered to keep the midrange free from colouration. The drivers are paired with DALI's SMC (Soft Magnetic Compound) motor systems, which are used throughout the range to minimise the mechanical distortion and losses found in conventional magnet assemblies. The crossover is fitted with audiophile grade Mundorf capacitors.
Hybrid Tweeter Module
High frequencies are handled by DALI's hybrid tweeter module, combining a 29 mm soft dome with a 17 x 45 mm planar ribbon tweeter that extends the response to 34 kHz. The module is rotatable, so the speaker can be installed in either landscape or portrait orientation. This lets the same model be used horizontally as a centre channel and vertically as a left or right front speaker, keeping a consistent tonal character across the front soundstage.
Cabinet and Connection
The cabinet is a bass reflex design with continuous flare ports, finished here in Natural Walnut real wood veneer. A bi-wire and bi-amp terminal panel is fitted, and a removable cloth grille is supplied. With a recommended amplifier power of 40 to 200 watts and a maximum SPL of 111 dB, the Rubikore Cinema suits ambitious home cinema systems while remaining compact enough for most living rooms.
