The Rubikore 8 is the largest floorstanding model in DALI's Rubikore series, sitting above the Rubikore 6 and the Rubikore 2 standmount. It brings engineering developed for the higher Kore and Epicore ranges into a more attainable speaker, and is aimed at larger listening spaces and ambitious high-end systems that need wide bandwidth and relaxed high-volume output.
Drive Units
The Rubikore 8 is a five-driver, reflex-loaded design arranged in a 2.5 plus 0.5 plus 0.5-way configuration, with an individual filter on every driver. Three 6.5 inch low and mid-frequency drivers use DALI's Clarity Cone diaphragm, a blend of paper and wood fibre, and the magnet systems use DALI's SMC (Soft Magnetic Composite) material to reduce distortion. High frequencies are handled by a Hybrid Tweeter Module that combines a 29mm low-loss soft dome tweeter with a 17 by 45mm planar magnetostatic ribbon, extending response to 34kHz.
Cabinet and Construction
The cabinet is hand-built in Denmark and uses Continuous-Flare bass reflex ports to manage airflow. The Rubikore 8 stands 1100mm tall and weighs 30kg each, and is finished here in High Gloss White lacquer.
Connectivity
Connection is via dual bi-wire and bi-amp 5-way binding posts, allowing single-wire, bi-wire, or bi-amp connection to suit the system. DALI recommends amplification of between 40 and 250 watts.
